Tips for Getting the Most Out of Your Sessions
What to Do After a Session
After an osteopathy or massage therapy session, it is recommended to rest and avoid strenuous or fast exercises.
However, getting fresh air, walking gently, and drinking water is highly recommended.
Remaining lightly active helps maximize the benefits of the treatment you received.
Is It Normal to Feel Sore Afterwards?
Any soreness you feel is usually similar to muscle stiffness or post-exercise fatigue, with a sensation of heaviness in the body.
This is completely normal. Your therapist has released muscular, joint, or fascial tension, which allows your body to self-regulate naturally.
How Many Sessions Are Necessary?
This depends on the individual and the reason for the consultation.
A single session may be sufficient for acute pain, while follow-up sessions may be recommended for chronic conditions.
Simple Daily Tips
After a consultation, it is important to give your body time to integrate the information provided by your therapist.
Gentle movement, such as walking, allows the body to self-regulate and integrate the treatment more effectively.
In short, stay mobile after an osteopathy or massage therapy session.
When to Consult a Doctor
If pain persists, worsens, or is accompanied by unusual symptoms (fever, significant loss of mobility, numbness, or tingling), consult a doctor before or alongside osteopathy.
